PREPARE FOR YOUR PROCEDURE

After your initial consultation and exam with your doctor, a specific care plan will be written for your individualized care. While scheduling with our patient coordination specialists, you will be given instructions and recommendations to follow. For your convenience, the Instructions and Recommendations are as follows:

Pre-Op Rules:

  • Arrive at the Surgical Center approximately thirty (45 - 60) minutes before your procedure.
  • Do not eat or drink anything including gum or candy 8 hours prior to your procedure.
  • If you need to take morning heart and/or blood pressure medicines, do so with a sip of water.
  • Do not take morning oral diabetic medication. Ask your physician about insulin and how to take it.
  • No smoking within 8 hours of your procedure
  • If Female, please inform physician if there is any chance you might be pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Wear loose fitting clothing and flat shoes on the day of your procedure. If you are receiving a cervical procedure, restrictive clothing such as a sport bra is prohibited. We need complete access to the injection site.
  • Do not wear jewelry or bring valuables with you.
  • Coumadin or blood thinners should be discontinued per protocol a minimum of five days prior to your scheduled procedure based upon approval from the prescribing physician.
  • Products containing aspirin/ibuprofen should not be taken 7 days prior to your scheduled procedure.
  • You MUST bring a responsible adult to drive you home after your procedure, THEY MUST STAY ON LOCATION! THIS PERSON MUST BE 18 YEARS OR OLDER.
  • Failure to follow these instructions could result in a delay and/or cancellation of your procedure.
  • Bring a list of your current medication and dosages. If you do not have a list please take a picture on your cellular device.
